Fue tener los papeles y los trabajos empezaron a salir de debajo de las piedras...No es que me saliesen más trabajos por tener el visado, si no por casualidad. Realmente tener los papeles o no tenerlos no cambia absolutamente nada, aunque yo pensase que sí, pero, otra vez, volvía a equivocarme (qué poco me gusta reconocer esto)

Había enviado mis fotos y currículum a varias empresas de eventos y al poco tiempo me llamaron para conocerme. Madre mía! tendríais que haberme escuchado... No atinaba una, eso sí no paraba de hablar (lo de hablar lo digo por decir algo, a saber lo que decía) pero vamos, me debieron de entender o les debí de caer muy bien, porque empecé a hacer eventos con ellos y no he parado hasta ahora...

Sin comerlo ni beberlo me encuentro trabajando en Dubai...encargada en una tienda, a cargo de representar una marca española en Dubai. Para no agobiarme mucho y aprovechando una fecha especial, el día 18 me fui a Fujairah.
Fujairah es uno de los siete emiratos, de EAU. Contiene las aguas más frías del Golfo Pérsico. La verdad es que no pude ver mucho de la ciudad, porque me pasé todo el día en el hotel, que era una pasada, y en la playa... Volveré y os pondré mas al día de todo. Llevaba unas semanas trabajando y me sentía como si conociese a la gente de toda la vida. Estaba haciendo muy buenos amigos en este trabajo. Por ejemplo Ibone, es una chica vasca encargada de Chocolate Vintage, una tienda de ropa y complementos. Desde el principio congeniamos muchísimo, una chica super positiva y con la que estoy viviendo muy buenos momentos.
Already had a few weeks to work and I felt like I knew the people of a lifetime. I was doing very good friends in this job. For example Ibone, is a Basque girl, charged with Chocolate Vintage, a clothing and accessories. From the beginning, we get along, a girl with super-positive and I'm living a great time.

Toda la gente que trabaja en el Global, ha venido desde España a para trabajar con diferentes marchas españolas. Así que imaginaros...para mi inglés, fatal! pero para sentirme como en casa, mejor imposible, entre quedadas, cenas, charlas, salidas nocturnas...me da la impresión que sigo en casa sin estarlo...
En mi tienda tenemos una chica filipina, Sonia, que es la chica que trabaja vendiendo en la tienda. Vive en Dubai con su marido, y comparten piso con más gente. Eso es muy común aquí porque la vivienda es carísima, y los suledos que les pagan son muy bajos para poder afrontar todos los gastos y ahorrar dinero, que es para lo que viene la inmensa mayoría. Casi todo el sector servicio está copado por filipinos, en tiendas, restaurantes, hoteles...te encuentras a un filipino atendiéndote.
El día libre de Sonia lo ocupa una española, Montse. Montse (en la foto de abajo, la que está en medio) trabaja con Virgia (mi amiga madrileña, a la derecha) de profesoras en un colegio, y los domingos viene a mi tienda. Virginia, ha empezado a trabajar también el el Global, llevando una tienda de bisutería, imaginaros, trabajando rodeada de amigos, qué más se puede pedir...
All people that work in Global, they have come from Spain for to work with a differents spanish brands. We imagine...this is horrible for my english...but this is perfect for to feel me like home. I am always with dinners, parties, talks....the same like in Spain.
In my shop, we have a fililino woman, her name is Sonia. She is the saleswoman. She lives with her husband in Dubai, they share flat with more people. This is tipical here, because the rent is so expensive and the wages paid are very low for to pay everything and to send the money for the family, that is the reason why they came here.
In most of the service sector works filipinos, you can to find one in each restauran,bar, shop....
Sonia´s day off, works a spanish woman in the shop, Montse ( In the picture in the middle) She works with Virginia in a school (my friend of Madrid, in the rigth). Virgina works too in the Global Village as manager of a jewelery shop. You imagine, I'm surrounded by friends...its perfect!
Y por fin, lo conseguí!! Ya soy residente emiratí!! Ya no voy a tener que salir del país cada mes para renovar mi visado!
Esa fue una de las cosas que más ilusión me hizo cuando me ofrecieron el trabajo. La verdad que los ciudadanos de la CCE lo tenemos muy fácil. Podemos salir del país(cruzar la frontera que está a una hora de camino)cada mes y listo. Ciudadanos de un montón de cuidades del mundo lo tienen realmente complicado para poder quedarse aquí. Los españoles en este sentido, tenemos mucha suerte.
Pues lo dicho me fuí una vez más a Omán pero esta vez a poner en regla mis papeles y preparar todo para hacerme las pruebas médicas para conseguir mi nuevo visado.

That was one of the things that made me more excited when I was offered the job. The fact that the citizens of the CCE, we have it easy. We can leave the country (border crossing which is an hour away) every month and go. Citizens of a lot of care in the world have it really hard to stay here. The Spaniards in this regard, we are very lucky.
Well, I said I went to Oman once again but this time to put my papers in order and prepare for me all the medical tests to get my new visa.

Me volví loca buscando el hospital donde hacían las pruebas médicas. Cuando ya lo encontré volví a agradecer a la vida por haber nacido mujer... No os podéis imaginar las colas de hombres que había...las mujeres éramos pocas y rápidas. Los hombres llevaban horas y horas esperando para hacerse un simple análisis...
Me hice los análisis, por cierto la enfermera majísima y muy cuidadosa, unas placas del tórax y lista!!

Hoy voy a hablar de uno de los edificios más impresionantes y sorprendentes de esta ciudad, el Burj Khalifa, el edificio más grande del mundo. Ya os he hablado muchísimo sobre él, pero de verdad que no me deja de sorprender, cada día aparece algo nuevo que no conocía. Lo que me apasiona de este edificio, es que va cambiando depende de la luz que le refleje. Hay días que parece gris, otros negro, otros azúl...me encanta....

A 422 metros de altura, es el restaurante más alto del mundo.
La consumición mínima es de 150 AED, unos 30€, realmente merece la pena entrar degustar sus platos, no baratos, disfrutar de sus vistas y relajarse en ese ambiente elegante y exclusivo.
The January 23, 2011 opened the At.mosphere restaurant on the 122 floor of the Burj Khalifa, two floors below the lookout tower, At The Top.
A 422 meters high, is the highest restaurant in the world.
The minimum consumption is 150 AED 30 €, really worth entering taste their dishes, not cheap, enjoy the views and relax in the elegant and exclusive atmosphere.
Antes os contaba lo de la ropa; las mujeres para eso somos un poco más previsoras, o presumidas que los hombres, y pensamos que ir a un sitio de estas características, iba acompañado de una ropa elegante, pero lo dicho, eso lo pensamos las chicas. Estuvimos más de media hora intentando convencer al encargado que dejase entrar a Pablo con sus zapatillas, llegando al punto de dejarle sus propios zapatos para poder entrar.
La verdad que agradecer enormemente a Raimundo Frazao, por su paciencia y atención.

Ya estaba de nuevo en Dubai, y sí puedo decir que noté cambios en la ciudad desde la última vez que había estado allí, carreteras nuevas, edificios terminados y más grúas...en fin, una locura, como siempre.
Dormí hasta cansarme y me preparé para irme a las dos entrevistas de trabajo. Ambas eran de relaciones públicas, una en un hotel y la otra en un restaurante y ambas muy bien pagadas, jornada completa 6 días a la semana... Las entrevistas, mejor imposible. Ahora la pelota estaba en mi tejado, si quería podía empezar a trabajar con cualquiera de los dos. LLegué a casa después de ese largo día...y me esperaba otra sorpresa. Una llamada con la que no contaba, el chico español que había conocido en el avión! Me comentó que había unos empresarios españoles que estaban interesados en que trabajase con ellos y si me podía pasar a que me hiciesen una entrevista. Pues eso hice, me fui a la tercera entrevista del día.
La entrevista era en un recinto, en medio del desierto, que se llama Global Village.
I was back in Dubai, and I can say that I noticed changes in the city since the last time I had been there, new roads, completed buildings, and more cranes ... well, madness as always.
I slept a lot and got ready to go to both interviews. Both were public relations, one in a hotel and the other at a restaurant and both highly paid, full-time, 6 days a week ... The interviews, better impossible. Now the ball was in my roof. if I wanted to, I could start working with either.
I arrived home after that long day ... and I was expecting another surprise. A call that I didn´t expect the Spanish guy I'd met on the plane! He told me that some Spanish businessmen, wanted to meet me, for to work with them. I went to the third interview of the day.
The interview was in a place in the desert, called Global Village.
Global Village es una exposición de diversos países de todo el mundo. Está dividido por pabellones y en cada pabellón hay tiendas, donde se venden de todo tipo de productos.
Abre sus puertas a principios de octubre y las cierra en mayo.
Global Village is an exhibition of various countries around the world. It is divided by wards. within each ward, there are shops, where they sell all kinds of products.

Cuando llegué estaban todos los pabellones terminados, menos en de España....qué raro!...
Me reuní con los dueños de la tienda que por cierto me gustaron muchísimo los dos, eran un matrimonio madrileño. Me comentaron que buscaban a alguien que les llevase la tienda y supervisase todo (controlar el personal, dinero...esas cositas...) La tienda era de chucherías gourmet.
When I arrived, all the pavilions were finished, less than Spain .... how strange! ... I met with the owners of the store, I liked very much both, they were a married couple. They were looking for someone to oversee everything, control staff, the store ... these things ... The shop was of gourmet goodies.
El horario era libre y sólo trabajaría 3 horas al día y el sueldo genial!! vamos! ideal para mí! Podría seguir buscando trabajo de actriz!!
Les dije que tenía otras dos ofertas y que me lo iba a pensar...¿Qué podía hacer?
Los otros dos trabajos estaban pagados de lujo, pero tenía que dedicarme exclusivamente a ellos, aunque en uno, me dieron la posibilidad de faltar siempre que me saliese trabajo de actriz... Pero claro, estaba el último... Sólo trabajaría 3 horas al día, podía elegir el horario a mi antojo (de 16:00 a 00:00) tenía todo el día para mí ganando un buen sueldo....
La verdad es que no lo pensé mucho...sin duda el último trabajo era el mejor para mí. Los dueños me gustaron mucho, el horario no podía adaptarse mejor a mis necesidades e iba a trabajar con españoles...mejor que mejor! Así que al día siguiente les llamé y les dije que a partir de ese día sería la
